Sunday Classics 2010
Audience favorite Elliott Markow returns to the stage of the Philharmonic in the charming Romance by Dvorak. Mr. Markow has appeared as soloist with the New Hampshire Philharmonic on three previous occasions - a performance of the Brahms Violin Concerto in 2008, the Lalo Symphonie Espagnol in 2004 and the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in 2002. Other recent performances include the firist Prokofiev violin concerto with the Granite State Symphony and the Brahms Violin Concerto with the Waltham Symphony.
Elliott Markow made his first professional solo appearance in his youth performing a Mozart Concerto with the Boston Pops. As a young man, Mr. Markow studied for two years with legendary violinist Jascha Heifetz.
Mr. Markow is much in demand around New Hampshire as a violinist and educator. Mr. Markow serves as concertmaster of the New Hampshire Philharmonic, the Nashua Symphony Orchestra, the Granite State Symphony Orchestra, the Granite State Opera Orchestra, and the Great Waters Music Festival Orchestra. He also serves on the faculty of the Manchester Community Music School, the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and Saint Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire.
