Spring Concert: The Art of the Violin
May 3, 2008 (8 pm) Palace Theatre, Manchester
For its spring masterworks concert, the Philharmonic celebrates the glories of the violin. One of the state's most esteemed violinists, playing on one of the state’s most significant violins, performs one of the greatest violin concertos ever written. Elliott Markow will perform the Brahms Violin Concerto using the violin crafted by Giovanni Battista Rogeri of Brescia, Italy dating to 1707. The second half of the concert will raise the roof as Music Director Anthony Princiotti leads the orchestra in the colorful and dynamic Pictures at an Exhibition, by Mussorgsky (in the standard Ravel orchestration). The concert takes place on May 3, 2008 at the Palace Theatre Manchester.
Tickets to this concert are currently available for $25 to $50 (and reduced student pricing) from the Palace Theatre 603 668 5588
